Why Community Matters

Exercise is an important part of rehabilitation, but there is another powerful ingredient that is often overlooked: community.

Living with a movement disorder can sometimes feel isolating. That’s why our group exercise classes are about more than physical activity. They provide a space where participants can share experiences, encourage one another, celebrate progress, and realise they are not alone.

Research shows that social connection supports wellbeing, motivation, and quality of life. We see this every week as participants build confidence, stay active, and form meaningful connections with others who understand their journey.

Our classes help improve strength, balance, mobility, flexibility, cognition, and mood—but just as importantly, they foster a sense of belonging.

Because movement is important, but moving together can make all the difference.

We’re excited to introduce PD-FIT, our new small-group Parkinson’s exercise programme at Movement Rehabilitation Centre.

PD-FIT is designed for individuals with Parkinson’s disease who are looking for a more challenging and structured exercise programme to improve balance, walking ability, strength, and independence.

To ensure a safe and effective experience, each class is limited to a small number of participants and suitability screening is required.
